Take On A New Adventure Through TEFL

Visiting a foreign country someday is something that is on a lot of people’s to-do list. Did you know that you don’t have to simply take a vacation to visit a foreign country? There are many ways that you can work or serve while you are visiting a foreign country and learning about its culture. One way that you can do this is by completing a London TEFL course and getting hired as a teacher of English in another country. Granted, this means spending more than a few days or even a couple of weeks in a foreign country, but that’s part of what makes it such an adventure.

TEFL stands for teaching English as a foreign language, and this adventure should not necessarily be taken lightly. A good, accredited London TEFL course will probably involve several hours of classroom teaching, up to 100 hours of online coursework, and basically working through some teaching experience. You don’t need to have experience as a teacher to complete a TEFL course, though. Thus, if teaching is something that has always interested you, then taking a TEFL course could get you on the road to a great teaching experience!

You don’t have to start your adventure in a foreign country right away if you are still unsure about committing to a TEFL position. What’s more, you shouldn’t even have to travel very far to participate in a London TEFL course. A lot of the coursework can be completed online, and the in-classroom part may be available in other areas besides just London. By carefully selecting which course you want to participate in, you might not have to travel very far at all. There are courses offered in Manchester, Oxford, Birmingham, and many other places besides just London.

My Weekend Fossil Hunting Trip To Edisto Beach State Park

I want to tell you about a weekend fossil hunting trip I took a few weeks ago. It was a cold, but sunny Saturday in December. I live about three and one half hours from the beach I was planning on visiting, so I started out rather early, about 4:30am. I was going to Edisto Beach State Park in South Carolina.

This was a trip I had been anticipating for quite some time. Because I live in South Carolina, most of my fossil hunting trips have been limited to the beaches of my state. I had not visited Edisto Beach before this. The majority of my trips have been to the beaches of Myrtle Beach and Hunting Island. I had read that Edisto Beach State Park was an excellent beach to hunt fossils so naturally I was eager to visit.

First, a little history about my fossil hunting. Some twenty years ago or so I was invited to go to the beach with an aunt. During the trip, Aunt Nita introduced me to hunting sharks teeth. Maybe I was a little young, but I did not enjoy this past time. Several years later, I was walking along the beach and happened to look down and see a sharks tooth. I reached to pick it up and suddenly remembered the excitement my Aunt Nita displayed upon finding a sharks tooth. I must have been about 20. That was 23 years ago. Today, I don’t miss an opportunity to go fossil hunting.
